You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha around 7:30 AM and drive about 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. The park is known for its huge elephant herds, open savannah, and scattered baobab trees. You’ll enjoy a game drive, watching for lions, zebras, giraffes, and more. In the afternoon, after a picnic lunch, the group will leave the park and continue to Karatu, a town in the highlands near the Ngorongoro area.
After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll descend into the crater and spend several hours exploring its floor. This natural wonder is packed with wildlife, it’s one of the best places to see the Big Five, especially rhinos, lions, buffalo, and elephants. There are also hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and more.
