Your adventure starts early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Arusha. You’ll begin the long but scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park. On the way, you’ll pass through farmland, Maasai villages, and the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You may stop for photos or to stretch along the way. By early afternoon, you’ll arrive in the Serengeti and begin your first game drive. You’ll explore the central plains, where you can often see large herds of zebras and wildebeest, as well as predators like lions and cheetahs. The landscape is wide and open, perfect for spotting animals from a distance.
After breakfast, you’ll go on a morning game drive in the Serengeti. Mornings are great for seeing animals when they are active and hunting. You may come across elephants heading to water or hyenas finishing a night hunt. Your guide will help you find the best spots and explain the animals’ behaviors. Later in the morning, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro highlands. As you leave the Serengeti, you’ll continue to see wildlife along the way. After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the gate of the Ngorongoro Crater and descend down into this unique and beautiful area. You’ll enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, stopping for a picnic lunch near a hippo pool. After lunch, you’ll drive back up to the crater rim and begin the return journey to Arusha.
