Your adventure begins at Machame Gate, where you'll meet your guides and porters before starting the ascent. The trail winds through a lush rainforest with towering trees, moss-covered pathways, and occasional wildlife sightings. After a gradual but steady climb, you’ll reach Machame Camp, where you'll spend your first night.

Leaving the rainforest behind, you’ll ascend into the moorland zone, where vegetation becomes sparser. As you trek up a rocky ridge, you’ll get your first breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro’s glaciers and the expansive Shira Plateau. The terrain is more open, and you’ll camp at Shira Camp, enjoying a beautiful sunset over the plateau

This is an important acclimatization day. You’ll trek towards Lava Tower (4,630m), a striking rock formation. After lunch near Lava Tower, you’ll descend to Barranco Camp, which sits beneath the dramatic Barranco Wall. This descent aids acclimatization and improves summit success rates.

Your day starts with the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but manageable scramble. Once at the top, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Kibo peak. The path then descends slightly before climbing again toward Karanga Valley. The trek is relatively short, allowing you to rest and acclimatize at Karanga Camp in preparation for the summit push.
