You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our staff will answer all your queries regarding your upcoming safari and provide you with a short briefing as well. Afterward, you will be taken to your accommodation at the Mount Meru Hotel.
We leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park. This park, covering approximately 2600 square kilometres, is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.
After breakfast, we proceed to the central part of Serengeti. This park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the “Big Five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos.
After breakfast, we will leave for Central Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch and game drive along the way. The Serengeti, among other incredible wildlife and stunning views, is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July to October. Witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again
After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with a picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area, including about 20 black rhinos, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some luck.
After breakfast, we head back to Arusha Hotel for lunch. You will then take a flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar in the afternoon.
