Prepare to take on one of Africa’s greatest adventures with a 6-day Mount Kilimanjaro trek via the legendary Marangu Route.
Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is one of the most established routes on Kilimanjaro and offers a classic journey through several spectacular climate zones—from lush tropical rainforest to alpine desert and finally the icy, high-altitude slopes leading to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa.
Your adventure begins at Marangu Gate, where you meet your experienced mountain crew and enter the beautiful Kilimanjaro rainforest. As you climb higher, the vegetation changes dramatically, revealing heather-covered moorlands, dramatic volcanic landscapes and the high-altitude environment of Kilimanjaro.
A Journey Through Five Climate Zones
One of the most remarkable aspects of climbing Kilimanjaro is experiencing the mountain’s changing ecosystems in just a few days.
You will journey through:
Cultivation Zone ? Rainforest ? Heath & Moorland ? Alpine Desert ? Arctic Zone
Each day brings a new landscape, a new challenge and a new sense of achievement.
The Journey to Uhuru Peak
The highlight of the trek is summit night, when you begin your final ascent from Kibo Hut toward Uhuru Peak.
Under the stars, you will climb slowly through the darkness toward the summit. As dawn approaches, the horizon begins to glow and the first sunlight illuminates the African landscape.
