Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

After registration at Marangu Gate, begin your trek through lush rainforest filled with giant trees, birds, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. The trail is gentle and scenic as you hike to Mandara Hut. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in comfortable mountain huts.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Continue your ascent into the heath and moorland zone. The vegetation becomes more open with stunning views of Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Peak. Arrive at Horombo Hut for rest, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to higher altitude. Optional hike to Zebra Rocks or nearby viewpoints to improve summit preparation while enjoying spectacular mountain scenery. Return to Horombo Hut for meals and overnight stay.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Hike through the alpine desert zone as you approach the base of the summit. The landscape becomes rugged and dramatic. Arrive at Kibo Hut, rest early, and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Start your summit attempt around midnight. Trek slowly through steep scree and reach Gilman’s Point at sunrise, then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement before descending back to Horombo Hut for overnight rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest back to Marangu Gate. Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, marking the end of your unforgettable adventure.
