Your safari begins early in the morning with hotel pick up in Zanzibar and transfer to the airport for your direct flight to Selous. Upon arrival at the airstrip, your professional safari guide will welcome you and start your full day game drive inside Nyerere National Park. You will explore different areas of the park searching for wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and many other animals while enjoying the beautiful landscapes of rivers, open plains and bush scenery. Around midday you will stop for a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive where you may see more wildlife and enjoy great photography opportunities. In the late afternoon you will transfer to African Selous Lodge or Selous Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of nature.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will start your morning boat safari along the Rufiji River where you will enjoy close views of hippos, crocodiles and many bird species while experiencing the calm beauty of the river environment. After the boat safari you will continue with a guided bush walk accompanied by an experienced ranger who will explain animal tracks, plants and small wildlife while walking safely in the African bush. This activity gives you a different and closer experience of nature compared to a vehicle safari.
