• Route Description: The trek begins at Umbwe Gate, located on the southern side of Kilimanjaro. The trail is very steep and passes through dense rainforest with rich vegetation and wildlife. It's a tough, steep hike that gives you a good workout right from the start
• Elevation: 2,850m (9,350ft) to 3,950m (12,960ft)
• Distance: Approximately 6 km (3.7 miles)
• Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
• Route Description: On the second day, the path continues to be steep, but as you climb, the forest starts to thin, and you enter the moorland zone. The terrain becomes more varied with ridges and valleys. This day culminates at Barranco Camp, known for its stunning views of the Breach Wall and the summit of Kilimanjaro.
