Day 1: JRO AIRPORT ? TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK ? KARATU

Welcome to Tanzania – Your Safari Begins

Your unforgettable Tanzania safari begins with a warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After meeting your professional safari guide, you will depart toward Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich parks.

The journey takes you through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania, offering your first glimpse of local villages, farms and the spectacular scenery surrounding the Great Rift Valley.

Upon arrival at Tarangire, you will enter the park and begin your first African wildlife game drive.

? Tarangire Wildlife Experience

Tarangire is particularly famous for its impressive elephant population and enormous ancient baobab trees, which create one of the most distinctive landscapes in Tanzania.

As you explore the park, keep your camera ready. You may encounter elephants moving through the grasslands, giraffes browsing among acacia trees, zebras and wildebeest grazing across the plains, and buffaloes gathering near water sources.

Predators such as lions may also be encountered, while smaller animals and hundreds of bird species add to the richness of the experience.

Your guide will carefully observe tracks, animal behavior and recent sightings to help maximize your opportunities for wildlife encounters.

After your game drive, you will leave Tarangire and continue toward Karatu, a beautiful area located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 2: KARATU ? NGORONGORO CRATER ? KARATU

Descend Into Africa’s Natural Wildlife Kingdom

After breakfast, prepare for one of the most spectacular experiences of your Tanzania safari.

You will drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.

The crater is one of Tanzania’s most extraordinary natural landscapes. Its vast enclosed ecosystem supports a remarkable concentration of wildlife.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

As your safari vehicle descends into the crater, the scenery gradually opens into a breathtaking landscape of grasslands, forests, wetlands and lakes.

Your experienced guide will search for wildlife throughout the crater floor.

Depending on the season and conditions, you may encounter:

Lions resting in the grasslands

Elephants moving through woodland areas

Large buffalo herds

Zebras and wildebeest grazing together

Hippos in water

Hyenas searching for opportunities

Gazelles and other antelope

Flamingos and other water birds

Black rhino, with sightings depending on wildlife movements and luck

The Ngorongoro Crater is also an incredible place for photography because wildlife and dramatic scenery often come together in the same frame.

Picnic Lunch in the Crater

At an appropriate designated picnic area, enjoy lunch surrounded by the spectacular natural environment.

Rather than simply passing through the crater, your safari gives you time to appreciate its landscapes, wildlife and unique ecosystem.

After your game drive, begin your journey back to Karatu.

Day 3: KARATU ? SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Enter the Legendary Serengeti

After breakfast, leave Karatu and begin the journey toward Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations on Earth.

Today is not simply a transfer day. The journey itself becomes part of your safari experience.

As you travel toward the Serengeti, the landscapes gradually transform, eventually revealing the vast plains that have become synonymous with the African wilderness.

Into the Serengeti

Upon entering Serengeti National Park, your safari adventure continues with wildlife viewing along the route.

The Serengeti is renowned for its extraordinary wildlife populations and is home to the famous Great Migration, although wildlife movements vary according to the season.

Your guide will monitor the conditions and wildlife activity to help identify promising areas for game viewing.

You may encounter lions resting beneath trees, elephants crossing the plains, giraffes feeding on vegetation, zebras and wildebeest moving across the grasslands, or perhaps a cheetah scanning the plains for prey.

If luck is on your side, you may also have the opportunity to see a leopard resting in a tree or hidden among vegetation.

Sunset in the Serengeti

As afternoon turns toward evening, the Serengeti takes on a completely different atmosphere.

The golden light stretches across the plains, wildlife becomes more active and the landscape feels almost endless.

Continue to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay in the Serengeti.

Fall asleep surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 4: FULL-DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

A Full Day in the Heart of the Wild

Wake up in the Serengeti, where the sounds and atmosphere of Africa surround you.

After breakfast, prepare for a full day of exploring one of Tanzania’s greatest wildlife destinations.

This is the day to slow down and truly immerse yourself in the Serengeti.

Search for Africa’s Great Predators

With your experienced safari guide, explore different areas of the park in search of wildlife.

The Serengeti is famous for its large predator populations, making this an excellent opportunity to search for:

Lions • Cheetahs • Leopards • Hyenas

But the Serengeti is much more than predators.

You may also encounter enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, warthogs and many different bird species.

Your guide will use experience and knowledge of the park to read animal behavior, tracks and environmental conditions.

The Great Migration

If your safari coincides with the appropriate seasonal movement, you may have the opportunity to witness parts of the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Millions of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and other grazing animals, move through the greater Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grass and water.

The exact location of the migration changes throughout the year, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, the Serengeti remains an exceptional wildlife destination throughout the seasons.

Picnic Lunch

Enjoy lunch during the day before continuing your wildlife exploration.

There is no need to rush. Your private safari allows you to spend more time observing wildlife and appreciating the environment.

Return to Camp/Lodge

After an unforgettable day, return to your accommodation as the sun begins to set.

Enjoy dinner and your final night surrounded by the legendary Serengeti wilderness.

Day 5: 5: SERENGETI ? LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK ? ARUSHA

One Final African Adventure

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before beginning your final safari day.

Depending on your departure schedule, you may have the opportunity for a final morning wildlife drive as you leave the Serengeti.

This is your last chance to capture photographs and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Serengeti before continuing toward Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara offers a completely different environment from the Serengeti.

The park is known for its beautiful scenery, groundwater forests, grasslands and the large lake that dominates the landscape.

During your game drive, you may encounter:

Elephants

Giraffes

Zebras

Buffaloes

Warthogs

Baboons

Monkeys

Hippos

Numerous bird species

The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Final Safari Lunch

Enjoy lunch before continuing your journey toward Arusha.

As you leave the national park behind, take a moment to look back on the incredible journey you have experienced—from Tarangire’s elephants and baobabs to the Ngorongoro Crater and the endless Serengeti plains.

Arrival in Arusha

Continue to Arusha for your final drop-off at your hotel or another agreed location.

Your 5-day Tanzania safari comes to an end, but the memories of Africa will stay with you long after you leave.

An Unforgettable Tanzania Adventure with Mangi Africa Tours & Safari Ltd!

Our experience with Mangi Africa Tours and Safari Ltd was absolutely amazing from beginning to end!

We started with the 6-day Marangu Route on Mount Kilimanjaro, and the entire trek was incredibly well organized. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and made sure we were comfortable and safe throughout the journey. Reaching Uhuru Peak, 5,895 meters above sea level, was an unforgettable moment and something we will remember for the rest of our lives!

After conquering Kilimanjaro, we continued with an incredible 4-day Tanzania safari, visiting Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park. We saw elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and so much more. The Serengeti was truly spectacular!

Everything was handled professionally—from transportation and accommodation to meals, guiding, and communication. The team at Mangi Africa Tours genuinely cared about making our trip special.

If you are planning to climb Kilimanjaro and experience a real Tanzania safari, we highly recommend Mangi Africa Tours and Safari Ltd. They are friendly, professional, reliable, and passionate about Tanzania.

Kilimanjaro conquered. Serengeti explored. Memories made for a lifetime!

Highly recommended!
